Observation An observation is something you detect using one or more of your five senses. • I see a pile of leaves. • I see a rake. • I see green grass.
Inference An inference is what you decide about an observation. • It is fall. OR • Someone raked the leaves into a pile.
Prediction Is an educated guess about a future event. A prediction MAY or MAY NOT happen but should be logical. • A kid will jump in the leaves. (may or may not happen)
Mass The amount of matter in an object.
