  1. TRANSPORTATION TUESDAY ALWAYS PREPARE FOR THE WORST!

  2. DRIVING IN HAZARDOUS WEATHER? BE PREPARED AT ALL TIMES FOR WEATHER CHANGES AFFECTING YOUR DRIVING SAFETY. WATCH HOW AND WHERE YOU DRIVE… AND YOU WILL ARRIVE ALIVE.

  3. Weather changes can quickly alter road conditions and visibility. A good driver prepares himself for all driving conditions that he might encounter. He maintains his vehicle to handle all types of weather. He drives defensively.

  4. How do you win against the weather? Tune-in to radio and TV reports - describing road and weather conditions. Equip your vehicle for conditions you might encounter – proper tyres, tow rope, jumper cables, torch, biscuits, drinking water. Have the position of your head lights, tail lights and fog lights checked before setting out. Too low, you won’t see much; too high, they cause a potentially dangerous glare for other drivers. Learn how your vehicle handles in rough weather. Front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all wheel drive vehicles, each have a different ‘feel’ to them. Learn how to correct a skid before it happens for real.

  5. We don’t drive the same road all the time …. • Wild weather, adds to the challenges of driving • safely. • Be aware of weather patterns so you can stay • off the road in extreme conditions. Watch • continually for changes in road surfaces and • visibility which accompany sudden weather • changes. Beware of sudden weather changes!

  6. Commit yourself to constant improvement in driving safety... It is not what you drive that matters, but how you drive in adverse weather conditions.

  7. A driver's license Is a challenge to drive safely !
