  2. Funding Status • HPWREN has NSF funding through August 2011 • Low probability of follow-on NSF funding for full support • We need stakeholder support in getting ahead of the curve on identifying new sources of support

  3. Candidate Funding Sources / Business Models • Grants from other city/county/state/federal agencies • Grant from private foundation • Pass-through funding from HPWREN user grants (HPWREN connectivity as an allowable direct cost) • Usage fees • “Membership” model • Contracts with other federal agencies • Partial commercial use or commercial carrier partnerships
