Centrifuge. What is a centrifuge?. A centrifuge is a piece of equipment, generally driven by an electric motor that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. In our lab, centrifuge is used to separate the MCF-7 cells from the liquid media.

What is a centrifuge? • A centrifuge is a piece of equipment, generally driven by an electric motor that puts an object in rotation around a fixed axis, applying a force perpendicular to the axis. • In our lab, centrifuge is used to separate the MCF-7 cells from the liquid media. • After centrifuge, all of the cells are adhered at the bottom of tube thus can be separated from media.
Settings • Speed can be increasing by rotating ‘Move’ knob. • To change timer and rpm settings, rotate ‘Enter knob’. • Always keep two equally weight samples in opposite chucks as shown in Figure. • Always make sure of weight balance after keeping samples in the centrifuge.
