  1. FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES Assess readiness to get underway Energize the following: 1) Radio Master Switch, Panel DC-1 RADIO MASTER SWITCH UP IS “ON” NOTE This energizes the pre-adjusted, fixed mount radios (three Marine VHF radios and the LAFD “Astro” 800 MHz radio at the Chart Table).

  6. FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES UP FOR “ON” MIDDLE POSITION FOR “OFF” DOWN FOR EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLY SELECT DIRECTION OF TRAVEL Lighting (navigation and emergency) as needed

  12. FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES YELLOW LED INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATE TO SIGNIFY “READY FOR OPERATION” and “REMOTE OPERATION” • Verify that Main Engine MTUs in Pilot House indicate “READY FOR OPERATION” and “REMOTE OPERATION”

  13. FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES PRELUBE START PRELUBE COMPLETE Start Main Engines upon completion of PRELUBE sequence

  14. FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES Start Main Engines upon completion of PRELUBE sequence MAIN ENGINE START Communicate with Mate at Bow; order “Cast off all lines” Proceed upon “All Clear” signal from Mate

FB 2 STARTING PROCEDURES MATE In charge of deck operation Verify that Off Ship Alarm is turned to “OFF” position before Shore Power is turned off Assess Fireboat 2 for readiness to cast off Bow Watch Communication Pilot to Mate: “Cast off” Mate to Deckhands: “Cast Off” Mate to Pilot: “All clear to get underway”
