Important People • Thomas Hutchinson was the governor during the hard times of The American Revolution. He also lost his job after for not doing anything • Sam Adams was one of the most important people in the Boston Tea Party also in a group called The Sons of Liberty
The Tea Tax • On March 5 1770 they took most of the taxes off expect the tea tax. This was most insulting because the colonists used more than 2 million pounds, which was 908,000 kg of tea every single year. Most Boston residents drank at least two cups of tea every day
Boston Tea Party • On December 16, 1773, the tea was dumped into the harbor
The Meeting • More than 7,000 people showed up to the Old South Meeting House on December 16, 1773
The Teapot • It all started in the mid-1770’s, when about 2.5 million people started living in the American colonies • On the date of November 2, a group, including Sam Adams met around a place called the Green Dragon Tavern • Most of the colonists called the harbor the tea pot because it looked like one after the tea was dumped
