Introduction10:32 AM • DK: We are looking for more community members to fill out the community survey online at FLPHI’s website at: http://www.flphi.org/RCAPHIASupplementalinformationandSurvey. • SC members please distribute this survey to your networks in the 4 counties (Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Palm Beach).

Assessment Step 1:Determine Health Effects of Recommendations • Methodology: • Cross analyze categorized RCAP recommendations with potential health effects. • Literature Review • Status: • Categorization completed. • Latest literature review draft completed.
Assessment Step 2:Determine Health Burden Attributed to Climate Change Factors Proposed to be Mitigated by Recommendations • Methodology: • Comparative Risk Assessment • Morbidity and mortality mapping • Social equity mapping • Status: • Analysis in progress completed. • Will be ready for SC review for the January meeting.
Assessment Step 3:Determine QALYs of Climate Change Impacts Proposed to be Mitigated by Recommendations • Methodology: • Meta-analysis of 5 most promising recommendations • Calculate risk ratios by County • Calculate QALYs • Conduct Cost-Effectiveness Analysis • Status: • In progress. • Draft will be ready for SC review at the January meeting.
Assessment Update10: 36 AM • AG: We are finishing up Step 1, working on Step 2, and will begin Step 3 soon. • AG: Step 3- discussion on QALYs from Nov. SC meeting has helped determine the best way to proceed with methodology. • AG: Full draft of report will be within the next few weeks. • DK: Important to note that HIA is currently on schedule. Thanks the SC members for their great input in the process.
Next Steps 10:38 AM • Next meeting Jan. 21st, 10:30AM-12:30 PM • DK: Please everyone try and be at this meeting as it is an important one. • DK: FLPHI received a 2 year, $250,000 grant from Kresge Foundation to look at the health impacts of sea level rise. Updates possibly in January. • Materials will be sent to SC on Jan. 14th for review: • Draft of the complete Assessment Plan. • 1st draft of the final report.
