Regional Skills and Social Care Context • Over 250,000 staff in H&SC • >50,000 have low or no qualifications • 35,500 qualified to below Level 2 • Forecast of 50,000 job opportunities by 2014 (retirement and expansion)
Regional Skills and Social Care Forecasts • By 2014, H&SC employers will need: • 12,000 more staff @ L4 or above • 23,000 more staff @L3 or equivalent • 15,000 more staff @ L2 or equivalent • Skills gaps are highest for personal care and managers and leaders
