The international summer school for observing, assimilating and forecasting the ocean is a two week course for early career scientists, professionals and students on the progress in operational oceanography and related ocean science. The course will include topics covering the leading edge science in ocean observing systems such as Argo and remote sensing, the latest methods and techniques for analysis, data assimilation and ocean modelling. Venue The summer school will be held in Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Perth city is located on the Swan River with the wider metropolitan areas extending to the coastline. Perth is known for its warm/dry climate, surf beaches and parks.
