Where did they live? • The Sioux lived in the plains of Nebraska, Wyoming, Minnesota, Montana, and North and South Dakota. They lived in tepees so that they could move often.
What did they wear? • Sioux men and boys usually wore deer skin and leggings. In hot weather they would wear strips of leather over their “manly parts”. Then in the winter they would wear buffalo robes and snow shoes to keep warm. The Sioux women and girls wore dresses and moccasins. They also decorated their buffalo hides.
What kinds of weapons did they use? • They used bow and arrows and spears. In big groups they would chase buffalo off cliffs on horseback. Another way that Sioux Indians hunted buffalo was to sneak up on herds wearing wolf skins and then ambush them.
