What is Solar Energy? • Solar Energy is radiant light and heat from the sun. It comes from the sun itself. It’s formed by the sun generating a nuclear fusion. And then the sun gets hot that causes hydrogen atoms to come apart and their nuclei to fuse or combine.
Is Solar Energy Renewable or Non-Renewable? • Solar Energy is a Renewable source. It’s a Renewable source because the Sun is a original source, that provides the constant replenishment of resources needed to continue.
How is Solar Energy used to make Electrical Energy? Solar Energy is collected through photovoltaic cells, typically made of silicon that acts as a semiconductor. The sun's rays contain heat and radiation. When the rays hit the surface of the silicon cells, they cause a release of electrons that roam freely.
4 disadvantages of Solar Energy 1. Unreliable 2. Few areas suitable 3. Low power energy source4.Toxic chemicals in solar cells can damage habitats.
4 Advantages of Solar Energy • 1.Renewable 2. No acid rain 3. No Global Warning 4. Cheap to run once built.
