  11. Rtveli Rtveli is when Georgians start to collect all the grape harvest. It is a traditional celebration to all Georgians. On the day the whole family gathers and collects the grapes. It is a law in every family. Anyone can participate in this tradition even tourists. Rtveli means noise, laughter, songs, dance & jokes. After each family has finished collecting then the women cook Churchkhela on a fire. Churchkhela is walnut carnal in grape candy. They boil the grapes to get the juice so that they can make the grape candy.

  12. Khorumi Khorumi is a war dance. It originated from southwest of Georgia. Originally only a few men performed it but as time grew it has been scaled to around 30-40 men participate. The dance is about a few men who are searching the area for a campsite and enemy camps perform the initial “prelude" to the dance. Afterwards, they call the army onto the battlefield. The exit of the army is quite breathtaking. Its strength, simple but distinctive movements and the precision of lines create a sense of awe on stage. The dance incorporates in itself the themes of search, war, and the celebration of victory as well as courage and glory of Georgian soldiers. Since Georgia has seen many wars throughout its history, Khorumi is a call from the past and reminds us that in order to have peace, we must be ready for war.
