  5. VEHICLE ADAPTIONSERVICES (VAS) • 1952 victims to polio • 1972, 2 - 3 vehicles modified per year • 1984 subsidiary of Matangi Motors Ltd • ACC came to be - funding availability • 1999 VAS was formed • 2000 first modified vehicle produced

  7. The VAS Experience “We wanted something which enabled them [the client] to access the vehicle easily, would [allow them] to have some dignity when traveling in the vehicle, and not spell out ‘disability’.” Wayne Brocket

  9. What We Did… • Information was collected via interviews with management. • Build manual review. • Systems analysis model was designed. • 2 questionnaires (1 management &1 staff) measuring job characteristics. • A third questionnaire redistributed to management.
