Background Informatiom • Christmas celebration is an important event worldwide and New Year Eve is an added event that makes the Christmas holiday a more exciting one. Earlier people used to celebrate Christmas at home along with their family. Nowadays, Christmas has become a holiday more than a celebration at home and people prefer to visit holiday destinations rather than being at home.
Continues: • Christmas in Kenya is celebrated throughout the continent as the population of Christians is approximately 350 millions in Africa. On the eve of Christmas carols are sung, gifts are exchanged among peoples, and special meats are roasted for the Christmas dinner. • It is a public holiday in most of the countries and in Africa people have their own traditional way of celebrating Christmas. After attending the churches and singing carols dinner is of utmost importance and paper hats, mince pies, turkey and variety of foods is the special attraction of the dinner.
