  2. An Addiction Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Markowitz is an addiction psychiatrist living in SC who spent many years working with veterans struggling with drug addictions at the James A.

  3. Medical Education Dr. Joseph Markowitz received his initial medical education in New Jersey; however, it was during his early years in SC that he found his calling in the field of psychiatry. In fact, in 2003, he was awarded the prestigious Columbia Behavioral Health System Award of Excellence for his work in psychiatry.

  4. Pharmacotherapy Research Dr. Joseph Markowitz also did further research on the pharmacotherapy of substance abuse while studying in SC; research has since assisted him in developing treatment plans for patients experiencing drug addiction.

  5. Professor of Psychiatry SC Addiction Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Markowitz is currently working as a psychiatrist at Prisma Health whilst simultaneously filling the role of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida, allowing him to treat a variety of cases and share his experience on those cases with others.
