  3. What is the SOTC? • The State of the Corporation (SOTC) address is a speech by the Premier at the AGM. • The SOTC outlines the current state of affairs and future direction for the members of YPM.

  4. Why give the address? • To share our plan for the upcoming year • To define our goals • We are answerable to you!

So, what is the state of our Corporation? • Success in 2007: • Spring Session, Brandon, Manitoba • Improvement of Cabinet Meetings • Personal Development • Rural development goals • Increase in Rural members at Winter session • MacGregor BBQ • Increased fundraising revenue • Registration numbers higher than ever

  6. So, what is the state of our Corporation? • Challenges in 2007: • Leadership development within cabinet structure • Limited success in fundraising • Alumni relations

  7. Goals for YPM87 • Wellness of our Membership: • Exec • Cabinet(s) • Members • Developing a structure of YPM that will help ensure future success • Fundraising and Corporate Development • Alumni Relations • Developing a “YPM community”

Wellness of Membership • Ensure Executive can handle the work load and efforts are acknowledged • Making sure cabinet(s) are well trained to do their job(s) and provided with the proper tools • Expanding on opportunities for our membership • Through YPM • Through other organizations

  14. How You Can Help • Realize that the organization will only progress if you want it to. • Attend events! • Apply to cabinet! • Get involved in committees! • Executive can’t do it alone! • You are the members! We need you!
