Traditional dissemination is proved to have some success in research but fail to link with the other dimensions…. • missing the interlinkage with real/usual life (societal dimension) • missing the interlinkage with the politicians (political dimension and no policy dimension) • difficulty to be understood and to identify dissemination needs • difficulty to improve mutual trustfulness (project vs. stakeholders and society) • produce no means of tangible and direct benefits (economic dimension) • detached from an education based dissemination approach, possibly centred on children, youths and adults (social, institutional and environmental dimensions) • unable to produce true motivation in citizens and politicians • difficult follow-up after dissemination • more interest to increase own visibility and show own knowledge rather than developing sustainable means of communication for dissemination

  4. Info Day • Duration: half day • Objective: to constitute a group of local stakeholder involved in further dissemination. Stakeholders must see real benefit from MELIA • Targets: stakeholders (to be defined) • Activity: dissemination of MELIA • Material: leaflets

  5. Public meetings • Duration: half day • Objective: increase societal awareness • Targets: citizens, schools, community groups…… • Activity: debate on water related themes and concerns raised by media and people in the region • Material: leaflets

  6. Schooling • Duration: 1 to 2 days • Objectives: raise the awareness of children (7-14 years old) and students • Targets: schools and universities • Activities: class, games, position roles, cases of water issues to be analyzed • Material: booklet or handbook with games…..

  7. Towards politicians Duration: half day Objective: raise awareness of politicians Targets: local to regional politicians Activity: present vision document Material: vision document Beyond local stakeholders’ groups vs. other stakeholders Duration: one day Objective: Targets: Activity: dissemination of MELIA trough mutual debate Material: leaflets Input: water related problems Output: preparation of vision document for politicians Working meetings

Link-playing in other relevant projects • Duration: it depends • Objectives: projects cross-dissemination • Targets: EC projects (Wasamed, Nostrum, Gewamed, Aquastress, Newater, SWAP) national projects, other Funds (WB, UNDP, …..) • Activities: analysis and dissemination of relevant documents or positions, web links, scouting relevant information, informing projects on MELIA results, produce vision document

Scientific contribution to relevant conferences • Duration: it depends on the conference • Objectives: present results of MELIA and raise awareness of research on the importance of building accessible knowledge. Focus on difficulties to implement sustainability in water management • Targets: scientists (relevant international conferences) • Activities: preparation of scientific contribution

  10. Media connection • Negotiation with other EU instruments to implement the recommendatios of MELIA through TV series • Preparation of cases to local journals articles • Animate debates on Radio or TV
