Introduction • I have learned many lessons about my goals and ambition, been introduced to SMART, and discovered that criticism is not personal but rather a constructive way to learn to improve. • The feedback I received regarding the cover letter and resume was very beneficial-after being out of the work force for so long, my skills are a little rusty.
Mission Statement • My hope is to leave a memorable and positive footprint on the consciousness of others after my demise.
Value Statement • I have learned I share with humanity a need for beneficence, responsibility, tolerance, work ethic, empathy, and justice.
Vision Statement • 2012-Patient Advocacy sponsorship • 2013-Elder Law certificate • 2014-Graduation from MBA program • 2015-Entrance into Doctorate Program Bioethics -Start Consulting -Help overall peer mentoring program in Georgia
Business Portfolio Components • Executive Summary- Familiarized students with business reports. • Resume- Provided a history of work and volunteer experiences and future objectives. • Strategic Planning- Taught us how to plan for current circumstances and in my plan for chaotic circumstances stemming from lawsuits. • Cover Letter- Showed us how to introduce ourselves to human resource personnel in the best possible way and further highlight resume standouts.
Integration • My experience in nursing from clinical training, lengthy customer service background, interaction with the senior and mental health populations through volunteer opportunities, and medical knowledge have combined with knowledge gained from my personality assessments, and other classroom assignments such as the formulation of a business portfolio.
Integration • My decision-making skills have been transformed from reluctance to decisiveness. • My goals now include starting my own consulting business which only occurred during this class. • I am gaining new perspectives on various subjects thanks to the wide range of views of my classmates.
Lessons Learned • Self-awareness • Intellectual honesty • Intellectual expansion • Critical thinking • Decision-making • Better communication skills
Conclusion • The business portfolio is an exercise that prepares one for the business environment on the managerial level. However, I value the personal lessons on internal improvements and assessments the most, one cannot successfully manage human capital without intimately understanding oneself.
