The Pensionado (Retiree) applicant must demonstrate a permanent fixed income from a pension or similar retirement income of US$1,000 per month for life.
Requires valid passport. • Birth certificate (long form) click to see sample. • Marriage certificate. • Letter of Good Conduct from local police. • Proof of a pension that provides a guaranteed minimum of US$1,000 per month for life. • Registration with the Canadian Embassy in Costa Rica upon arrival. • - Documents 2 to 5must have been issued within 6 months of time of application. • Pensionado Status, • Canadian Citizen
Passport: • Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration. • The Birth Certificate, • The Marriage Certificate, • The Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police, • Proof of a Pension. • If pension is from private source, i.e. company pension, signature is to be notarized. • Upon receipt, these documents are to be sent to Foreign Affairs Canada.
