The Pensionado (Retiree) applicant must demonstrate a permanent fixed income from a pension or similar retirement income of US$1,000 per month for life.
Requires valid passport. • Birth certificate (long form) click to see sample. • Marriage certificate. • Letter of good conduct from local police. • Proof of a pension that provides a guaranteed minimum of US$1,000 per month for life. Social Security is considered a form of pension. • Complete the Smart Travel Enrollment Program (https://step.state.gov/step). Print and bring with you. No additional action on this item is required. • - Documents 2 to 5 must have been issued within 6 months from time of application. • Pensionado Status, • U.S. Citizen.
Passport: • Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months duration. • Birth Certificate: • Upon receipt, certificate is to be sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled. • Marriage Certificate: • Signature must be sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled. • Letter of Good Conduct from Local Police: • Signature must be notarized and sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled. • Proof of a Pension: • If pension is from a private source, i.e. company pension, signature is to be notarized and then sent to State’s Secretary of State to be Apostilled. • If Government source, simply have document Apostilled.
