Giving Your Body for Us Fatherhood is a sacrifice and offering of a man’s physical body as the expression of love for his family.
Giving Your Body for Us Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation – if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, have become a servant. Colossians 1: 21-23
Giving Your Body for Us Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, people have never hated their own bodies, but they feed and care for them, just as Christ does the church -- for we are members of his body. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh… each one of you also must lov ehis wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:25-33
Giving Your Body for Us Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because those who have suffered in their bodies ar done with sin. As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do – living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry … Therefore, be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. 1Peter 4:1-8
