Standards for Mathematical Practice Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. Reason abstractly and quantitatively. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others. Model with mathematics. Use appropriate tools strategically. Attend to precision. Look for and make use of structure. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
Classroom Rules are consistent with school rules. Students are to demonstrate courtesy and respect at all times. Safety is the primary concern for all. Refer to the student handbook. • 1. Enter the room calmly, quietly and ready to learn. • 2. Listen and follow directions. • 3. Be prepared for class (paper, pencils, text, notebook, etc…). • 4. No put downs • 5. Do your Best • 6. Respect and Honesty • 7. No extra items like food, drinks, toys, cell phones or any other distractions. • 8. Common Sense • 9. Continue to have fun with math.
Materials Grades are based on the following: 3 ring binder 1” Assessments 60% Protractor Angle Ruler Assignment/Activities 30% Paper 8 ½ x 11 Participation 10% Pencils Dividers HighLighters Color Pens (4) Calculator Flexible ruler. Colored pens
Point System – Letter grades will correspond to the following: 90% - 100% of total possible points = A Way Above Average 80% - 89% of total possible points = B Better than Average 70% - 79% of total possible points = C Average 60% - 69% of total possible points = D Below Average 50% - 59% of total possible points = F Far Below 90% - 100% = A Advanced 80% - 89% = B Proficient 70% - 79% = C Basic 60% - 69% = D Below Basic 50% - 59% = F Far Below Basic
Vital Information • Late Work accepted with deduction of points • Students responsible for all absent work including test and quizzes • Check for homework completion • Please have WAG signed weekly. • Student and Parents check Q for grades
