  2. To Do List - prior to Group Advising • Update your four-year plan • Check URSA account for ‘Holds’ and registration date • Note: ‘Holds’prohibit registration • Check for transfer credit accuracy

  3. Where are your classes located? • Carefullycheck the location of your classes • UNC building with a room number • Make sure your classes are at UNC • DO NOT registerfor any class with: LOWR, LOV or COSP location • DIST = Extended Studies • {additional tuition cost}

  4. Information for Science Class Registration • BIO 265, SCI 265, and ESCI 265 • You must register for the Lecture(3-4 cr) ~AND ~ • You must register for the Lab (0 cr) **Submit both CRN numbers at the same time

  5. ESL Information • TESL 101 is required - 0 cr. application • Packet is available on Blackboard or Hispanic Studies Office – Candelaria 0295 • Take TESL 101 with MAS 100 or MAS 275 • 1 full year of college level foreign language required (Spanish recommended) • Take the Online Spanish Assessment • http://www.unco.edu/hispstds/spanplacementexam.html • Additional Questions? • Contact elizabeth.franklin@unco.edu

Courses at the community college • See the Community College Guaranteed Transfer Agreement form  on the ELED website and in the ELED office • www.unco.edu/ELED/forms • Grade of ‘C’ or higher transfers • Transfer credits do not affect UNC GPA • Transcripts should be sent to the Registrar’s Office

  7. Reading Minor • It is easy to add a reading minor with the following courses: • EDRD 314 (required for ELED major) • EDRD 319 • EDRD 340 (2.75 cumulative GPA – or consent of instructor) • EDRD 410 (option - language arts concentration; 2.75 cumulative GPA – or consent of instructor) • EDRD 411 (prerequisite – grade of ‘B’ or higher in EDRD 410) • One of the following: • COMM 223 • COMM 350 *Contact Financial Aid regarding guidelines

  8. GPA is Very Important! • 2.75 cumulative GPA prerequisite: • EDF 370 • EDEL 350 • PSY 347 • EDSE 430 • TESL 370 • ART 444

  9. Grade ReplacementBest way to raise your GPA • Complete form prior to semester’s drop deadline • Form is available on Registrar’s website • Information  www.unco.edu/registrar • Contact Financial Aid regarding guidelines • Grade Replacement does affect COF Stipend

Interim Registration • Interim is an abbreviated semester between fall and spring (during the holiday break) • Most classes are online; limited to taking one class • Registration for Interim 2014 begins October 6th • No PIN required • If applicable please check with Financial Aid regarding funding

  11. Sign-up for your Group Advising Session • Everyone must sign-up for a Group Advising session: • Call the ELED Office: 351-2929 • OR • Stop by the ELED Office : McKee 227

How to get your PIN • Attend Group Advising • Peel off name label (alphabetical by last name) • Go to ELED website www.unco.edu/ELED • News and Events  ISET Group Advising Survey • Use PASSCODE from name label • Take ISET Group Advising survey • Submit • Write down PIN • Register on designated date (check on URSA)
