Extraction of Small Volume Biological Samples

This study compares the performance of packed bed and disk formats in the extraction of small volume biological samples. The attributes such as sorbent mass, bed height, and particle size are analyzed for 1 ml samples. Packed bed with 25 mg sorbent mass and 1.5 mm bed height is compared against the disk with 4 mg sorbent mass and 0.8 mm bed height. The particle size is 50 μm for packed bed and 8 μm for the disk. The study aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of these two formats for SPE cartridge applications.
