Creative Problem Solving Across Cultures The overall purpose of this exercise is for students to explore the how to use creative problem solving in various cultures.
Objectives To determine the how country cultures influence creative problem solving. To understand how to use brainstorming for creative problem solving.
Instructions Your instructor will divide the class into small groups and assign a country to each group. Your group is to use Business Around the World (http://www.mhhe.com/business/management/businessAroundTheWorld/enter.html#) to research your assigned country Brainstorm ideas to develop an advertisement for your school’s new distance learning MBA program (15-20 minutes per group) based on your research findings.
Instructions • Each group member will spend five minutes generating ideas. • The group will elect a recorder who will record everyone’s ideas. • Each group member will rate each idea on a scale of 1-10. • As a group, combine everyone’s ideas in the advertisement.
Instructions After organizing your group’s ideas, your recorder will write down your group’s two-minute presentation of your advertisement (5-10 minutes) including a brief overview of your country and how the advertisement is appropriate for your country. Each group will present their advertisement to the rest of the class. The class will rate your creativity skills using the creative performance scale below:
