Health Services advisory committee (HSAC 1984) • Systems should be in place to reduce risk of injury. Training should be given to: • heighten awareness of manual handling • develop safer techniques • use equipment • on induction and regular refreshers. • Updated in 1992 • training for people handling 3 – 5 days. • Long enough for explanation, demonstration and practice.
