Eligibility for Springfield Education FoundationGrants • Individuals or teams of individuals employed by Springfield Public Schools • For use in current school year • Evaluations must be completed for the previous year to be eligible to receive funding again

Innovative Educator GrantsFunding • $250-$3,000 grants available, around 40 grants will be awarded small grants and large grants will be reviewed the same and measured only by the content of the application • Made possible by individual contributions, private grants, corporate sponsorship and SELCO Community Credit Union
Innovative Educator GrantsApplication Process • Applications due October 1 at 5pm • Apply On-Line at: www.springfieldeducationfoundation.org/grants • The FORM DOES NOT SAVE YOUR WORK! Start in another document and cut/paste to application • Do not include your name or your school’s name in the body of your grant. If there are names included in the body of your grant, it will be disqualified.
Innovative Educator GrantsApplication Process, cont’d • All projects require principal/ supervisor approval. You will receive a copy of your application emailed to you. Principal must sign. Return to SEF by interoffice or scan and email to Grants@SpringfieldEducationFoundation.org • One IEG proposal per applicant • Funds must be spent in the current academic year
Innovative Educator GrantsReview Process • Blind assessment • Each application is reviewed electronically and given numerical scores • Grant committee includes: SEF Board members and community members who are not educators • Avoid education jargon and spell acronyms
Innovative Educator GrantsGrant Recipient Responsibilities • Submit photos or a video of your project (staring students, if possible) that we can share at events or for fundraising purposes • Agree to share project information at SEF event • Submit project evaluation by August 31 • Materials purchased are property of SPS • Evaluations must be completed for the previous year to be eligible to receive funding again

Frank Sherman GrantsFunding • Grants up to $1,000 available..small grants and large grants will be reviewed the same and measured only by the content of the application • Sustained by the Frank Sherman Memorial Endowment gift contributed by Frank’s late wife, Katie Sherman

S.E.L.F. Grants Funding • Grants up to $1,000 available..small grants and large grants will be reviewed the same and measured only by the content of the application • Established in 2016 by Stan and Cathy Paine • Awarded 3 grants totaling $2,900

If there are names included in the body of your grant, it will be disqualified. • Administrator approval required • One SELF application per educator
S.E.L.F. GrantsGrant Recipient Responsibilities • Use of the grant for the purposes intended. • Agree to share successful projects in staff meetings and at SEF events if requested. • Submit a written evaluation at the completion of the project no later than August 31. • Send a thank you letter, with photos (if available) to the Paine family after completion of the project. Their address will be provided to grant recipients.
