The Evolution of Technology Microwaves Ovens Keilandra Scruggs
A kitchen appliance that heats food by dielectric heating. • This is accomplished by using microwave radiation to heat polarized molecules with the food. What is Microwave Ovens?
Invented by Dr. Percy Spencer in 1945 • Raytheon Corporation filed the microwave oven US patent for Spencer method of cooking • A specimen of the oven that can heat food with the help of microwave energy was kept in Boston restaurant for the purpose of testing in testing in 1947. • The first commercial model of the microwave oven came up in 1954, but did do not do well terms of sale. The Evolution of Microwaves
Amana Corporation was acquired by Raytheon, and they developed the first home model of Radarange in 1967. • It was priced at US $495, and it became quite popular despite the fact that the sales were quite slow in the beginning. • In the 1960s, another company named Litton came up with a new model of microwave ovens, which looks similar to the present model of microwaves. • In the 1970s, the sales of microwaves grew at a much faster rate and touched one million in the US market by the end of 1975.
