Wang Yongchen’s CSR Biography • She began her career in environmental protection in 1988 and since then had won China News Award, China Environment News Award, Asia-pacific Broadcasting Award, etc. • Green Olympic Games torchbearer in 2008 by UNDP • Global Environmental Protection Hero 2008 by TIMES • Annual Green China Figure in 2007 • World Environment Champion 2004 • Wang Yongchen started Green Earth Volunteers in 1996 and has initiated or co-initiated many land-marking green activities, like Bird Observation, Tree Observation or Adaptation, Ecotourism, Environment Journalist Salon, Eco-water Tour. • She devoted her energy to river protection since 2003 and started Southwest River Decade Investigative Journey and Yellow River Decade Investigative Journey. She insistently promotes information disclosure, public participation and scientific decision-making.
