Status of L-mode database Solving data corruption in WMHD, WDIA F. Imbeaux
From WDIA and WMHD archives • Unexpected variations occurred between v0.8 and v0.9 : • Significant variation of WDIA and/or WMHD : PDX, PBXM (multiplication by factor 2 to 3 !), JFT2M (corrected afterwards v2.3 v2.6), D3D. • Small variation of WDIA and WMHD : ASDEX • Small variation of WMHD + later change of shot number (v1.0 v1.7) : CMOD • Non-zero values of WMHD and WDIA put to 0 : JET, FTU, DIII • The other machines (TEXTOR, TSUPRA, TFTR, T10) were not affected
Action requested end of August 07 • FI sent an email to responsibles of the machines for which data had been corrupted : do you agree to correct present version using the data of v0.8 for WMHD and WDIA ? • Email sent to iterGdb mailing list • Expected answer for : ASDEX, CMOD, DIII, DIII-D, PDX, PBXM, JET, FTU. • Received answer only for CMOD, DIII, DIII-D.
DIII & DIII-D (J. De Boo) • Values of WMHD and WDIA are correct in v0.8, use them to correct the present version. • Specific for D3D : change of WTH occurred between v0.3 and v0.4 : no answer received for this yet.
CMOD (M. Greenwald, J. Snipes) • CMOD had a quite strange and specific problem : small variation of WMHD + later change of shot number (v1.0 v1.7) • Values of WMHD are correct in v0.8 but : • they have roundoff errors w.r.t. original data +/- 5 kJ • they have wrong shot numbers • The shot numbers have been corrected in v1.7 • The proposed solution is to correct the present version with WMHD from v0.8, tracked down taking into account the shot of shot number (v1.0 v1.7) • Alternative solution : resubmit the shots ?
Actions • FI to send list of changes for JET and FTU (to whom ?) • Machine responsibles should confirm that the values of v0.8 are correct : ASDEX, PDX, PBXM, FTU, JET. • Once agreement on the solution is found, release a new corrected version of Lmode DB.
