  1. Status of L-mode database Solving data corruption in WMHD, WDIA F. Imbeaux

  2. WDIA, WMHD, and WTOT • Latest version of the database is v3.2, available at http://www-itpa0d.cea.fr : • 2 years ago, a problem on DWDIA and DWMHD was identified and solved. Data corruption occurred between v2.2 and v2.3, ans has been solved by retrieving values form v2.2 • A similar problem was identified on WDIA and WMHD (J. De Boo and S. Kaye). For DIII-D : • WMHD is found anomalously large with respect to WTOT. Same feature spotted for PBXM, CMOD. • WDIA is missing while it was provided to the DB • WTOT is correct, and consistent with WTH. Thus L mode scalings are not affected by the WDIA and WMHD problem.

  3. WDIA and WMHD archives • The WDIA and WMHD problem occurred before the earliest version we had : v1.7 • Since last meeting : we could get access to earlier versions of the DB, thanks to Knud's personal archives, v0.0 to v1.0 • Changes in WDIA and WMHD have been tracked down systematically : unexpected variations occurred between v0.8 and v0.9.

  4. WDIA and WMHD archives • Unexpected variations occurred between v0.8 and v0.9 : • Significant variation of WDIA and/or WMHD : PDX, PBXM (multiplication by factor 2 to 3 !), JFT2M (corrected afterwards v2.3  v2.6), D3D. • Small variation of WDIA and WMHD : ASDEX • Small variation of WMHD + later change of shot number (v1.0  v1.7) : CMOD • Non-zero values of WMHD and WDIA put to 0 : JET, FTU, DIII • The other machines (TEXTOR, TSUPRA, TFTR, T10) were not affected

  5. Proposed solution • Retrieve WMHD and WDIA values from v0.8 • Special case of CMOD (change in shot number !) to be investigated in more detail
