Debate Format • Opening Statement: 1 minute – 1 person • Opening Argument: 3 minutes – 3 people (all must talk) • 3 minute preparation/modification session • Rebuttal/Continuing Argument: 3 minutes – 3 people • Questions for other team:3 minutes – 3 people (Team B will get 4 minutes and have 4 people) • 10 minute preparation/modification session • Closing Statement/Summation: 1 minute – 1 person

  2. Winner to be determined by: • Use of facts/data to support your side. • Response/Rebuttal of points made by other side. • Persuasiveness/Power of argument
