Debate!. TOPIC:. Here is the debate question: IS TOUGH LOVE EFFECTIVE? Yes : it works, keeps people in line, teaches, benefits society, learn consequences, morals and consideration, etc No : too harsh, causes people to abuse their power, causes people to shut down, lowers self esteem, etc.

  2. TOPIC: • Here is the debate question: • IS TOUGH LOVE EFFECTIVE? • Yes: it works, keeps people in line, teaches, benefits society, learn consequences, morals and consideration, etc • No: too harsh, causes people to abuse their power, causes people to shut down, lowers self esteem, etc

  3. Roles/jobs • Group leader • Opening statement • like your hook, hook your reader, get them interested, like the beginning of a Law and Order episode, state your claim… • Closing statement: • “So what” • Your conclusion, wraps up and gives advice, something to DO with the information you’ve debated

  4. Leadership: • GROUP LEADER • CAN NOT GIVE the opening/closing argument • Assigns roles and assignments • Checks in with group work • Needs to know everyone’s information • During debate, should know what people have to say and calls on people to go up to “battle”

  5. Once in Groups: • I will Check your homework. • I am NOT playing around. If it is not done to my standards, I will shut down the debate and you will have an alternative assignment. • Before you begin: • Get everyone’s name and contact information (#/email) • Do it on the back of note #7.
