  1. 6 Room Image Poem

  2. In your mind, picture a place that you enjoy visiting, have been to on vacation, or a place that you go to for fun. Take a snapshot in your mind of all the details of the place you have chosen.

  3. Image • In the first room think of something in your picture that is amazing, beautiful, interesting, unique or has stayed in your mind. Close your eyes and picture it. Take a mental picture of it. Now write in the first room all the details you see in your mind. Describe it as accurately as you can.

  4. Light • In the second room, focus on the quality of light. Is it dark? Sunny? Are there bright colors? Shadows?

  5. Sound • In the third room, picture the same image but focus on sounds: is it quiet? What kind-peaceful, lonely, empty? Are there birds chirping? Rustling leaves? Wind blowing? Voices, laughter?

  6. Questions • In the fourth room, write down any questions you have about this place. What are things you wonder about?

  7. Feelings • In room number five, write down the immediate feelings you have towards this place.

  8. Repeating Word • In the last room, look over the five rooms and see what common idea, word, phrase or line seems to stick out at you. Write that word three times.
