Time Management It is what they do in the time spent – rather than the amount of time they spend. • Students need to timetable their time • Take out all committed times e.g. football training, dinner time, TV programme • Allocate at least 10 mins each night to review time. • Good idea would also be to practice exam Qs in the time it should take to complete them in the real exam.
Example of study timetable MONDAY All can be completed within afternoon study here in school
Sample Home from school at 4 Relax / out of uniform / bite to eat – 4.45 / 5.00
The study method (25 mins for each topic) • Select topic • Test themselves BEFORE opening book • Skim read – picking up main points and read questions at the end of the chapter • Take notes • Test again • Check off notes and circle and underline things missed or wrong • Test again – the next day, the next week, the next month and in 4 months. 3/4 mins 15 mins 5/6 mins
6 Weeks Before The Exam • Use a notebook or copy as your ‘Examination Notebook’. • In it: • Put all information regarding the format of your exam in it. • Timing of exam, marks awarded for different types of Q’s etc. • ‘very important’ topics.
The Principle of learning • Have a go • Make a mistake • Correct it
