The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc 300 local organizations world-wide 25,000 Members in IEEE San Francisco Bay Area Council (SFBAC) The San Francisco Council has three Sections: Oakland/East Bay Section San Francisco Section Santa Clara Valley Section These three Sections make up the largest membership within IEEE.
Requirements for Establishing Student Branch Signature of 20 students and three faculty members teaching engineering classes Designating Interim Chairman of the Branch Designation of one faculty member as Counselor of the Branch Approval by the Department Chair and two faculty members

Student Eligibility A student Member must carry at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program in course of study in IEEE designated fields. Student Members upon graduation with at least a two-year degree, shall be transferred to Associate grade.
