The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc Non-profit, technical professional association 377,000 individual members in 150 countries 1150 student branches world-wide 37 Technical Societies 860 active standards with 700 under development Produces 30 percent of the world's published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control technology

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc 300 local organizations world-wide 25,000 Members in IEEE San Francisco Bay Area Council (SFBAC) The San Francisco Council has three Sections: Oakland/East Bay Section San Francisco Section Santa Clara Valley Section These three Sections make up the largest membership within IEEE.

  4. Requirements for Establishing Student Branch Signature of 20 students and three faculty members teaching engineering classes Designating Interim Chairman of the Branch Designation of one faculty member as Counselor of the Branch Approval by the Department Chair and two faculty members

Requirements for Establishing Student Branch Three school catalogs outlining accreditation, course curriculum, and listing of engineering faculty members Adopting a Branch constitution Submitting the petition for approval to IEEE Student Services Manager at 445 Hoes Lane, P O Box 1331, Piscataway, NJ 08855

  6. Student Services Support for Student Branch Guidelines to form a Student Branch Leadership training manual Information on scholarships and awards Supplies: membership pins, benefit flyers, stationary, envelopes, etc. Limited financial assistance

  7. Student Eligibility A student Member must carry at least 50% of a normal full-time academic program in course of study in IEEE designated fields. Student Members upon graduation with at least a two-year degree, shall be transferred to Associate grade.
