Coil the hose with the male coupling to the inside. • Using a winding table or a Gnass Hose Winder to simplify this operation. • A five foot diameter coil usually works.
Then, fold flat. • Or ... • By measuring with the black strap portion of the SAC-METRO pack; the distance from the nozzle to the first fold, the load will come out to the right length. • A piece of 2x4 can also work as a measuring device and guide, that the hose can be coiled around to build the same configuration, instead of using a hose winder.
Bend the hose load in the middle. • Place the SAC-METRO pack around the outside perimeter.
The SAC-METRO LOAD • Can be loaded with a second of the same and put into a standard high-rise pack. • Or connected together for twice the length. • Using Niedner XL-800 allows for the lightest and most compact high-rise pack possible.
To deploy, release the straps. • Pull the hose load into a coil. • This will allow the hose to be charged without kinking, similar to a garden hose. • Charge in place, then advance the line.
In a High-rise, it might be desirable to charge the hose vertically and allow the hose coils to stand against the wall. (Two person operation) • This allows for more space on the stair landings and reduces the possibility of stepping into the center of a coil. You can imagine what might come next. :(
To pay hose out: Hose coil may be hung on shoulder. Drop outer loops of hose to extend line to target.
