Facts about the rough fungus beetle • It is 14-17mm long. • Its shell is oval. • It has a shiny black shiny head and thorax. • It has small black dots on its shell. • It live in meows, fields, woods and gardens. • It lives in these areas Colorado, new Mexico and Arizona. • Adults eat pollen, nectar and some fungus babies always have to eat fungus that’s all babies eat. • When they have there babies they place them on bark. • They only place their babies on dead trees. • When the babies are born they go under the bark that they were placed on then the adults no when there babies are hatched to they come and feed them. • The texture on the beetle is very unusual cause most fungus beetles are smooth. • There are 4 different kinds of the rough fungus beetles.
