A brief background to collaboration OECD’s Statistical Information System Collaboration Community • Sharing of OECD’s statistical information systems modules: • StatWorks • MetaStore • OECD.Stat (including OECD eXplorer) • First shared with IMF in 2007 as a joint development project • Today there are 7 members in addition to OECD as lead • Based on bilateral agreements Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with each organisation, • Interest has now grown with strong and formal expressions of interests from a number of other institutions.

New Visualisations – the integration of eXplorer OECD’s Statistical Information System Collaboration Community • .Stat now includes eXplorer visualisation component, • any data selection from the 700+ datasets available can now be viewed as an animated graphic using: • maps, • bubble charts, • line charts , • and histograms. • Visualisations can be customised and shared among groups, • provides a new dimension for data discovery and storytelling based on the latest available data.

Community vision OECD Statistical Information System and Collaboration Community Co-producing and co-developing state-of-the-art Statistical Information Systems by leveraging on community capacities. Sharing of experiences, knowledge and best practices through multilateral collaboration and building of a collective capacity. Enabling innovation at an optimal cost with all members benefiting from each other in terms of ideas and methods. Provide a platform for Open Data projects as identified as a priority for major member countries. Implementing standards for data sharing across organisations in order to improve data accessibility and quality, and reduce costs.

Key points OECD Statistical Information System and Collaboration Community 64 participates representing 25 organisations, 18 presentations over 3 innovation sessions, individual topics ranged from Open Data, Semantic Web, Mobility and Cloud, 5 work groups per innovation session, 13 questions discussed and outcomes reported back outcomes prioritised by collaboration partners on day 3.
