  9. 2017 Schedule

  10. Coaching Philosophy

  11. CoachingPhilosophy • Expectations: • We firmly believe that our practice plans translate into habits • Our goal is to prepare our players for both success on and off the field • We will implement multiple drills, routines and offensive/defensive strategies used by some of the best high schools and colleges in the country • We will develop scripted practice schedules for each and every practice • We are investing a lot of time, preparation and energy into each and every practice… miss a day miss a lot! • Practice times • The schedule is week to week controlled by the CF Athletic Dept. • Time will depend based on the weather - indoor or outdoor • Our time (6:45 to 8:45) will be the regular time slot (outdoor) • We will practice rain or shine

  12. CoachingPhilosophy • Expectations: • We expect every player to be on-time • If practice starts at 6:45pm, we expect every player to be dressed and ready to go at 6:40pm • Any missed practices or games must be approved by the coaching staff • Excused absence • If you are too sick to come to go to school, you will not practice or play in a game • Examples of unexcused absences: • I have tickets to a Cavs Game • I have dodge ball • I have a date with my girlfriend • I have a driving test • Get your homework completed in between the end of school and practice

  13. CoachingPhilosophy • Playing Time: • Merit Based System • Team Development • We may ask certain players to switch positions • We will play the best players regardless of grade • Playing to Win • Our team goal is to win a State Championship • Grievances - We ask that you please understand that we have only the best interest of the team in mind • We will handle all issues coach to player • During the season we will not discuss Playing Time with any Parent • During a game the field and bench area is reserved for team personnel only

  14. CoachingPhilosophy • Helmets: • Team helmets = White & Orange Cascade R • Communication via email will go out to all new players with the link to order helmets • Cost is around $175 with our discount • Decals/Helmet wrap will be supplied • Game & Practice Uniform: • Home & Away Jerseys will be provided for both Varsity & JV • One (1) pair of game shorts will be included into fees • Every player is expected to wear team practice gear • Practice Pinnie will be provided • Must wear: • Black practice shorts • White socks • White under shirt or shooting shirt

  15. CoachingPhilosophy • Leadership & Culture: • We believe that team chemistry is crucial for the short-term and long-term success of this program • It starts with the coaches but needs to come from players • Everyone needs to be on the same page • Commitment: • Team First • We believe in playing as a team, which means no one is more important than the team • We will win as a team and lose as a team • We expect 100% effort out of every player

  16. CoachingPhilosophy • Offensive Philosophy: • Motion Offense • Multiple Sets • Playbook • Up-Tempo Style • Aggressive Style of Play • Risk Management - Adjust & Adapt • Scouting Reports • Attackmen will ride opponents all over the field • Pressure, Pressure & More Pressure

  17. CoachingPhilosophy • Defensive Philosophy: • Our motto on the defensive side of the field is DDR. • Detailed- in our preparation. Film and Field • Disciplined-during play, not let our emotions get the best of us. • Relentless-We want opposing offenses to work for every goal. We want to force the tempo not the other way around. • Skills/Attributes • Stick Skills-The misconception is that you need less stick skills to play defense. That is false. With the way that want to push the ball up field in transition, we need to be part of the action and not just ball taxis. • Acumen. We run around 4 to 5 different sets. We will teach these tactically and visually via field and playbook prep. • Grit- “firmness of character; indomitable spirit.” This has nothing to do with your stature or abilities. You need to have a mental toughness that will get you through 90 degrees in overtime.
