  4. 1. Facts Of The Gospel That we Must Believe • 1. The gospel is the good news that God sent His Son into the world to live among men—He was tempted but never sinned—He knew mans weaknesses—sorrows—He knew mans condition in sin

  5. Heb. 2:9 • But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

  6. 1. FactsOf The Gospel That we Must Believe • 2. These facts include the death, burial and resurrection of Christ

  7. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 • Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

  8. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 • For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

  16. 2. The Commands Of The Gospel That We Must Obey • 2. We are free moral agents and may accept or reject the commands of God • 3. The only way the gospel can transform the lives of men is when it is obeyed!

  17. 3. The Blessings Of The Gospel That The Saved Enjoy • 1. Forgiveness of sins • Acts 2:38 • Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  22. 2 Tim. 2:10 • Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

  23. Rev. 2:10 • Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

  24. 4. The Gospel Contains Warnings That We Must Heed

  25. 1 Cor. 10:12 • Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

  26. Heb. 2:3-4 • How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

  27. Lk. 12:4-5 • And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

  28. Conclusion • Obey the gospel and be saved

  29. Mt. 28:19-20 • Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:[20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

  30. Conclusion • Those who do not obey will be be lost

  31. 2 Th. 1:7-9 • And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

  32. 2 Th. 1:7-9 • Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
