Better Value for money. • Question: If we see in a shop a sign that states Apples 1 for €0.50 or 2 for €0.90 • Which option would be the better value? • Would you save any money by buying 2 apples?
Is this shop offering value for money? • Cup cakes €0.79 each or Buy 6 for €2.60 • How will we work the answer out?
We divide €2.60 by 6 to figure out how much one cup cake costs in the offer. • €2.60 divided by 6 = €0.43 • 1 cupcake costs €0.79 with out the offer. There fore if we were to buy 6 cupcakes in the offer we would save €0.36 per cupcake. (€0.36 x 6 = €2.16 of saving)
Always ask yourself when you see an offer when shopping – do you really need the 6 cupcakes for example – will they be used before their expiry date? • Be a wise buyer! ! ! ! !
