  4. Conflict Definition: a fight or disagreement Violence doesn’t solve a problem…it only makes it worse. 7th Grade

  5. Resolving a Conflict During an Activity • Conflict resolution is the process of finding an agreeable solution to a conflict. Conflicts can end in several ways. • Compromise is a solution in which each person gives up something to reach a solution that pleases everyone. • Collaboration is a solution to a conflict in which neither side has to give up anything to reach a solution that pleases everyone. 7th Grade

  6. Resolving Conflicts • Pick Your Battles-Sometimes you have to decide whether it is worth your time and energy to stay in a conflict. • Walk away- A final strategy for dealing with conflict is simply walking away from conflict. 7th Grade

  12. How Can You Prevent Bullying? Speak UP: • If you see someone being bullied, tell a trusted adult. • Be assertive, not aggressive • Avoid BULLIES • ASK for Help 6th Grade

Cliques vs. Gangs A clique is a small group of people with shared interests, who spend time together and exclude others. • Those involved with a clique often share the same interests. • Cliques can be referred to by “group names” Skaters, Jocks, Nerds, Emo or Druggies. • Cliques generally don’t protect “TURF” • Gangs can be controlling • Most gangs are associated with crime and violence • “TURF” is not just confined to school-Streets, Neighborhoods, and zip-codes are claimed. 7th Grade
