  17. Citizen Corps Council Task Force Since 2007, the Citizen Corps Council Limited English Proficiency Task Force has worked to bring not-for-profit groups together to increase preparedness among immigrants.

  18. Community Emergency Response Teams CERT members are a microcosm of New York City. With over 1,200 volunteers from all backgrounds, professions and experiences.

  20. Language Access In July 2008, Mayor Bloomberg signed Executive Order (EO) 120, creating a centralized language access policy for New York City to ensure meaningful language access to City services.

  21. Map IT OEM created an application called Map IT, which uses outreach data, demographics, and infrastructure to provide a visual representation on the entire city to inform responsible community outreach.

  22. Summary Community Disaster Networks help determine the services that we offer before, during, and after an emergency. Create culturally and multi-lingual outreach opportunities, education tools, and volunteer initiatives for specific demographic groups. Use data to evaluate and improve outreach initiatives. Work with volunteers and staff to create sustainable preparedness actions.
