Newsletter/Panui August 2014 Planning This month we are going to be extending on the children’s interest of books through traditional tales. We will also be learning Nursery Rhymes. Each week we will be focusing on a different traditional tale. What a great time we had at the Selwyn Ridge School Production ‘ We would like to: Welcome: Ayla, Nike, Havana, Carter, Harihuri tau ki a koe (happy birthday) to : Zion, Nash, Devon, Emma-Jane and Nicole Kia Ora Koutou. A friendly reminder please bring your child with a drink bottle. Staff Aimee will be going on Maternity leave on the 4th September . In her presence Emma-Jane Jones will be taking on the role of Team Leader and Sarah Waugh and Sarah McKenzie will be responsible for the under 2’s. Thank You Thank you to all the people who brought raffle tickets for the trip fundraising and also for the very generous donation from Terraina Lambert . All proceeds go towards our trip to Te Puia. School Visits Every second Friday we will be taking our 5 oldest children on visits to Selwyn Ridge School assembly . We will be going to Welcome Bay assembly once a month. Animal Dress Up Day This month we have participated in the nation wide Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori. We have been learning a new Maori word each week. We are going to continue this learning throughout the year so keep an eye on our Maori language board for the word of the week.
