The Logo • I designed 3 different logos based on my decision of wanting to do an acting agency for kids with a crèche and chaperone service. STAR Child actors’ agency Young Talent Springboard Kids acting agency
The Business Card • The business card gives my company a more professional look. • I chose to make it look plane and simple so that it stood out.
Letter Head • Yet again its plane and simple, but with a more enthusiastic ‘Childs’ twist. • I decided on this as it is a company for children and the wave makes it look more child friendly.
Business Plan • I have built up contacts in the industry, ranging from catering to stunts. With this advantage I have people who can then recommend me for services. • I hope to build up my reputation as a business, in both the film industry and the general public. • I aim to offer the best that the industry has seen, and give top care and services to the children we are responsible for. • We have contacts with suppliers that we can buy our needed equipment off.
Qualifications and Skills • I have studied early childhood studies at Manchester Metropolitan University, giving me both the knowledge and hands-on experience in childcare needed for this job. • All staff will need to be trained to work with the children, with relevant and sufficient qualifications. • Staff will be CRB checked and first aid qualified before working with the children.
Setting up the business • I will do most of the processes my self but I will have to hire a number of staff in a couple of times a week as I do not have the experience or knowledge to do this myself. • I will still be involved in every step and decision made for the company. • I have a business plan of what I would like to achieve in the next 3 years. Buying a portable service is one of them.
Operating the company • As any business personal will know, there will be competitors and collaborators. • I have both. But I can use this to my advantage by collaborating with other companies that can better the size and how well known my company is. • I will need a number of facilities; an office for my staff, with rooms to look after the kids in safety, a kitchen and toilet facilities. • Equipment hire is important for when equipment is too expensive or its wouldn’t be used very much.
Premises • My ideal location would be in the Coventry area where I am based. I would need offices for staff to work in, and a room or two to keep the children when they are in our care. • I have looked at a number of properties and found the most suitable. • I would like to buy a double Decker coach and transform it into a pace where we can keep the kids whilst they are waiting to be on the set. I would keep the seats downstairs, but make the upstairs into a crèche.
Chosen Premises • This is my ideal premises it is situated on the ground floor in the quadrant, inside Coventry's city centre. • If offers 3 offices on one floor. • There are toilets and kitchen facilities available on site. • Insurance, water and electricity is included. • - It is 510 square foot • Costs £2,750 per annum • On site car parking is £65 per month for 5 spaces • Broadband, phone and mobile £49.50 per month from BT
