He was previously employed with NIKSUN and currently with AT&T, USA.
Minutes of CSeON WG session • GSSM#12 CSeON WG Agenda (Niranth-Huawei) – For Approval • Niranth summarized the GSSM#11 Report, shared the status of the TRs, status of liaisons and presented the agenda for approval. • No comments were raised by the members. • Conclusion: The agenda is APPROVED. • CSeON GSSM#12 Preparatory meeting minutes (Niranth-Huawei) – For Approval • Niranth presented the minutes of the preparatory meeting held. • The preparatory meeting minutes to be circulated. • No comments were raised by members on the minutes. • Conclusion: The minutes are APPROVED.
Minutes of CSeON WG session • Requirements for Emergency Telecom Services (Ritesh – NEC) • Ritesh presented the contribution on ETS which highlight the standardization needs. • Bala, TCS mentions to consider usage models of IoT Platform for Disaster Management. He also specified that multiple access should be used for attaining Call Completion for emergency services in terms of Voice, Data and also using heterogenous networks even in adhoc fashion. • All members deliberated on the issue of identifying key focus areas on this topic for 2013. • Numbering Plan for Emergency Service (Common Number) • Location Determination • Unified Access to Heterogenous Networks for Call Completion in the event of emergency. • Conclusion: The contribution is APPROVED.
Minutes of CSeON WG session • Information Migration TR (Basavaraj – Graceful Growth) • Basavaraj presented the draft TR on Information migration and mentioned that its an on-going work and needs to align with the renewed focus of Cloud within the Group. • TMForum has worked on information representation aspects and the author mentions that the aspect of Information migration has not been handled anywhere and is crucial within developing economies who will migrate to newer information systems. • The main objective of this TR is to benefit the enterprises and Telecom service providers who manage their business using information systems by providing min. business down time while ensuring accuracy and reliability of information migration from legacy systems to new systems. • Key methods like Cold Turkey, Butterfly are already explored but needed to be qualitative assessment before making any recommendations and the group requested contribution of case studies. • Anand, NEC mentioned that he will connect to a member in DoCoMo on this topic. • T.R Dua, GISFI suggested that these methods should be assessed with organization involved in Cloud/Data Center business. • Arvind, CISCO suggested about an organization MAIA who may have data on which we can conduct analysis for these methods. – Basavaraj to explore this. • Krishna, I2TB suggested that a proposal for analysis of these methods should be made available and he can support in the activity of identifying organizations. • As this topic has some relationship with TMForum, the group suggested we send a liaison to TMForum. – Niranth to explore this. • Conclusion: The contribution for TR is Approved. Need to assess the suggested steps for this WI.
Minutes of CSeON WG session • Mobile Cloud (Basavaraj – Graceful Growth) • Basavaraj presented this topic with the background discussed in the preparatory meeting. • He mentioned about the key study areas like services, revenue models and technology advances. • T R Dua, GISFI mentioned about how to seamless enable mobile applications on cloud. • Niranth, Huawei mentions about cases that exists which explores how cloud can support mobility scenarios in Content networks. • Arvind, CISCO mentions that we analyze the work within OMA and other relevant groups also. • Ashutosh (AT&T) has expressed interest to lead the topic on Mobility for Cloud during the preparatory meeting. The group requests a new WI proposal on this topic in GSSM#13. • Conclusion: This contribution is NOTED. WI Proposal is expected in GSSM#13. • Use Case for Carrier Grade Cloud Computing (Niranth – Huawei) • Niranth presented a use case for a distributed User profile management in IMS network context. • Anand, NEC supported the use case. • Other related industry groups are IETF P2P-SIP, OGF and need further analysis. • Conclusion: This contribution is APPROVED.
Minutes of CSeON WG session • Next Steps • Deliverables (Contributions are invited) • TR1 - CSeON Requirements and Framework TR to be updated based on the comments received and a new version to be provided in GSSM#13. • TR2 - CSeON Business Models TR - To be reworked on any comments by the members and formally approved in GSSM#13 • TR3 - CSeON Information Management TR – First draft to be reviewed before GSSM#13 • TR4 – Carrier Grade Cloud Computing TR – Further progress on analysis to be provided in GSSM#13 • TR5 (Security and Monitoring for Cloud) - Open • TR6 (QoS for Cloud) – TCS to provide inputs by GSSM#13. • TR7 – Emergency Telecom Services TR – Focus on 3 discussed topics for GSSM#13. • TR8 – Knowledge Network: Use case for Cloud Computing – I2TB will bring contribution in GSSM#13 • Liaisons • LS to be followed up with IETF IAB, NIST, TEC and IEEE SA-India • Communication with Indian Regulators and Telcos • Strategy to be discussed with Krishna, Sirohi – Leader of GISFI Standardization Committee. • Approach Paper to be drafted by GSSM#13.
