  2. The Qualities & Quantities of Music during the 1900’s to 2011 • Early music was played by a “record player.” • Now, we have other electronics to use in order to play our music. (iPods, MP3 Players, More affective radios, etc.) • “Ragtime, rock, jazz, folk, hip hop, big band, etc.” • Rock & Country had influenced “Southern rock.” • Progressive & Jazz had contributed to “Acid jazz.”

What were the causes/influences on the music development? • Southern Areas had a great influence for music. • The blues • The gospel music • The jazz • “Swing” music. • Caribbean Region • Tango, Hawaiian island music, etc. • The Hawaiian Island music had influenced Country music. • Native Americans • Ghost Dance, Zuni Shakalo, Navajo Yeibichai and the Sun Dance of the Plains.

  4. What impacts did/does it have on the U.S. then/now? How did/does it reflect the times?
 • The impact that music had on the U.S. in 1900’s has changed throughout the years, leading to modern-day 2011. • During the 1900’s, it was a big part of entertainment and it still continues to be. However, it had influenced on ways people express themselves within their own kinds of entertainment. • In the 1900’s, most of the music was based on ‘ragtime.’ • It had influenced music awards such as Country Music Awards, MTV Music Awards, Grammy Awards by Nomination and Tony Awards. • It had an influence on music genres such as ‘the blues,’ jazz, swing, band and even rock and roll.
