LHCb DC in 2003 Production of ~50M events for the LHCb-light and Trigger TDRs 17 centres involved, 59 days of work • 4 Russian centers were involved (3.3% contribution) • JINR-Dubna - 30 CPUs • IHEP-Protvino - 30 CPUs • ITEP-Moscow - 30 CPUs • SINP-MSU - 30 CPUs Special thanks to V.Romanovsky and H.Slabospitskaya for their efforts in IHEP-Protvino
Goals of LHCb DC in 2004 • Integration of LHCb and LCG software (including POOL, SEAL, …) Intensive tests of their compatibility and robustness. • Tests of the distributed analysis scheme • Production of MC samples for: a) LCG TDR end-2004 b) LHCb computing TDR middle-2005
Details of LHCb DC in 2004 • Simulation (GEANT4) of 2.5 x 108 events • Reconstruction of 1.0 x 108 events (10% test, trigger is not taken into account) • Visible fraction of resources comes from LCG • Replicate DSTs to CERN and TIER-1 centres • First tests of the distributed analysis scheme (probably most interesting for physicists)
Russia for LHCb DC in 2004 • Significant increase of available resources: + 64 PIV-2.4 GHz CPUs in ITEP + 1-2 TB of disk space in ITEP + tape robot in MSU • New participants INR-Troitsk G.Rybkine INP-Novosibirsk A.Zaitsev • Possibility to access data from home labs !!!
Timescale for LHCb DC in 2004 3 months starting from end of April Efficient sharing of available resources between LHC experiments requires an accurate planning. This statement is rather important for Russian participants due to the limited resources !!! We hope to keep our contribution on the level of 3-5%
