"Great is your mercy, O Lord; give me life according to your rules" Psa 119:156 "The sum of your word is truth and every one of your righteous rules endures forever" Psa 119:160 "Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me" Psa 119:175 "And take not the word of truth out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules" Psa 119:43 "I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules" Psa 119:7 "The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true and righteous altogether" Psa 19:9

  3. Rule of Personal Accountability - Ezekiel 18 God has control (sovereign) • "All souls are Mine" vs 4 • Gen 1:27; Jn 3:16 He is a just judge - vs 4, 20 He is a merciful judge - vs 21-13 He must judge - vs 30-31

  4. Rule of Personal Accountability - Ezekiel 18 We have a choice (free will) We choose evil - vs 10-13 We choose righteousness - vs 7-9 We can repent - vs 21-23 We can live - vs 30-32

  5. Take Home • We are accountable for ourselves - This applies to our physical as well as spiritual lives! • We are making a choice (right now!) • God will judge righteously

  6. "He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey righteousness, there will be wrath and fury" Rom 2:6-8 "If a man is righteous and does what is just and right… walks in my statutes, and keeps my rules by acting faithfully - he is righteous; he shall surely live, declares the Lord God"Ezek 18:5-9
